Languages are not only learned. They are lived.
Every language we have learned becomes part of our personal history. Even if we haven't used it for years, it is rarely completely lost. It can be rediscovered, strengthened, and integrated into a new phase of life.
Sustainable multilingualism means creating realistic ways of keeping languages active, not through pressure or perfection, but through meaningful use, curiosity, and enjoyment.
Languages don't disappear because you haven't used them for a while. They simply need meaningful opportunities to come alive again.
– Ute Limacher-Riebold
Ute's Language Lessons are Different
These are not traditional language lessons.
They are designed for people who want to reconnect with a language, strengthen an existing one, or make it a living part of their everyday life again.
Whether you learned German at school, learned French at university, lived in Italy for several years, or simply want to keep speaking English with confidence, we work together to make that language part of your present, not just your past.
What happens in a session
During our sessions, we explore the language through authentic conversation, reading, writing, and reflection. We discuss topics that matter to you and adapt each session to your interests, goals, and life experiences.
Together we build habits that help your language remain part of your everyday life.
Format
Sessions are available:
- Online (worldwide)
- In person at my office in Voorschoten, the Netherlands
You can choose between:
- Individual sessions (1:1) for personalized support
- Small conversation groups (2–3 participants) to encourage meaningful interaction and maximize speaking opportunities.
I intentionally keep groups small so that everyone has ample time to speak, reflect, and receive individual feedback.

Sustainable language learning

My approach
Every language has its own story.
Some accompany us every day.
Others quietly wait until life creates the opportunity to use them again.
I believe that maintaining a language is not about perfection or constant study. It is about creating meaningful opportunities to speak, listen, read, write, and connect.
That is why every session is adapted to your interests, experiences, and goals, helping you build a sustainable relationship with your languages.
